Athens, Ga. (September 16, 2026) – Landmark Properties, a fully-integrated real estate investment firm specializing in the development, construction, acquisition, and operation of high-quality residential communities, together with W5 Group, a leading global investor in Innovative Living projects, announces the delivery of The Standard at Syracuse, a 635-bed student housing community at 910 Madison Street. Located one block north of the Syracuse University campus, the community welcomed its first residents in August, ahead of the start of fall classes, and pre-leasing for the 2027-2028 academic year is already underway.
Rising seven stories, the project was designed by Cube 3, with Landmark Construction, the in-house construction arm of Landmark Properties, serving as general contractor. A special feature of the project was the preservation of the Temple Concord sanctuary, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, which was reimagined and designed into the project as a community gathering and amenity space.
“The Standard at Syracuse brings something genuinely distinctive to student housing in the Syracuse market,” said Jason Doornbos, Chief Development Officer at Landmark Properties. “The preservation and reimagination of the historic Temple Concord sanctuary as a resident amenity space is a first for Landmark — and paired with a location one block from campus and a market-leading amenity program, The Standard is in a class of its own. I’m proud of what our team and W5 Group delivered here and excited to welcome our first residents to this remarkable community.”
The Standard at Syracuse is comprised of 210 units in a mix of studio to five-bedroom apartments, the first residential community in the Syracuse market to offer this full range of floor plans. Each apartment comes fully furnished, wired for high-speed internet, and features in-unit laundry and hardwood-style flooring throughout. Kitchens are appointed with quartz countertops and stainless-steel appliances. Select units offer private balconies.
“The Standard at Syracuse brings our Innovative Living approach to life: thoughtful residential environments that respond to how students live today while anticipating how their needs will evolve,” said Ralph Winter, Principal at W5 Group. “Delivering a project of this complexity, while preserving the historic Temple Concord sanctuary and opening in time for the 2026–2027 academic year, speaks to the strength of our partnership with Landmark. At W5 Group, we believe the best investments and partnerships are built for the long term, and we look forward to continuing that
work together.”
Landmark Properties carefully preserved and transformed the original Temple Concord structure – built in the early 1900s – and incorporated it into The Standard at Syracuse to create “The Concord Club,” 4,750 square feet of distinctive amenity space for residents that offers a variety of well-appointed gathering spaces to unwind, study, and socialize.
The building’s amenity package also includes a 24-hour fitness center as well as a sauna, a gaming lawn, outdoor grilling areas, a Jumbotron, several firepit areas, and a large outdoor hot tub. A covered on-site parking deck provides resident parking for up to 220 vehicles. The Standard at Syracuse is steps from the Marshall Street entertainment district and the 76-acre Thornden Park with its pool, rose garden, and outdoor amphitheater.
Landmark Properties owns and operates more than 2,000 student housing beds across three properties in New York State. In addition to The Standard at Syracuse, there is The Station Buffalo near the University at Buffalo and The Retreat at Bunn Hill near Binghamton University, which also delivered ahead of the 2026-2027 academic year.
