Over $2 Billion and 15,145 Beds Currently Under Construction Headline Record-Setting Development Pipeline Near $5 Billion

ATHENS, Georgia (July XX, 2018) — Athens, Georgia-based student housing developer Landmark Properties recently started construction on 11 new student housing communities across the country. A mix of urban infill and cottage-style projects, the 2018 construction starts represent over 7,700 new beds.

The 11 new developments include The Standard at Raleigh and The Station at Raleigh, both near North Carolina State University; The Standard at New Brunswick near Rutgers University; The Standard at Fort Collins near Colorado State University; The Mark at Atlanta near Georgia Tech; The Standard at Austin near The University of Texas; The Retreat at Urbana near University of Illinois; The Retreat at Denton near University of North Texas; The Standard at State College near Penn State University; The Standard at Berkeley near University of California; and The Mark at Gainesville near University of Florida.

The Standard at Raleigh — A mixed-use development located 0.1 miles from North Carolina State’s campus. The project will feature 234 units totaling 707 beds. Floor plan options include studios, 1-, 2-, 3- and 4-bedrooms. The Standard will also have 5,965 square feet of commercial retail space and more than 7,000 square feet of amenity space.

The Station at Raleigh — A cottage-style community featuring 174 homes and 658 beds located adjacent to North Carolina State’s Biomedical Campus. Unit types include 1-, 3- and 4-bedroom options. All floor plans will offer private bathrooms for each resident. The Station will also feature 10,500 square feet of shared amenity space.

The Standard at New Brunswick — A mixed-use development with 186 units totaling 682 beds. The urban infill project is located just 0.4 miles southeast of Rutgers main campus on College Avenue. The Standard will offer 29 distinct floor plans ranging from studios, 2-, 3-, 4- and 5-bedrooms. The Standard will also include 2,100 square feet of commercial retail space and over 10,700 square feet of amenity space.

The Standard at Fort Collins — An urban infill project adjacent to Colorado State’s campus with 237 apartments totaling 782 beds. Floor plans options include studios, 1-, 2-, 3-, 4- and 5-bedrooms with private bathrooms for each resident. Community amenities are highlighted by a clubhouse, pool, fitness center, golf simulator, yoga studio and study lounge.

The Mark at Atlanta — A mixed-use development located in Atlanta’s popular Midtown neighborhood, less than a tenth of a mile from Georgia Tech’s campus. With 281 units and 799 beds, The Mark at Atlanta will include studios, 1-, 2-, 3-, 4-, 5- and 6-bedroom floor plans. In total, the project will include over 311,000 square feet of residential area, 23,500 square feet of amenity space and more than 7,750 square feet of commercial retail space.

The Standard at Austin — An urban infill development with 287 apartments and 997 beds. The project is located less than 0.2 miles and three blocks from UT’s west campus. In addition to offering studio, 1-, 2-, 3-, 4-, 5- and 6-bedroom floor plans, The Standard at Austin includes over 33,300 square feet of amenity space and 5,400 square feet of commercial retail space on the ground level.

The Retreat at Urbana — A cottage-style community located 0.2 miles from the University of Illinois main campus. The project includes 126 homes totaling 476 beds across 2-, 3, and 4-bedroom floor plans. All homes offer private bathrooms for each resident. In addition to detached cottages, the community will also include 10,260 square feet of shared amenity space featuring a clubhouse, resort-style swimming pool, fitness center, 24-hour study lounge, a corn hole area and more.

The Retreat at Denton — A cottage-style community near University of North Texas with 189 homes totaling 700 beds. Available detached cottages offer 2-, 3- and 4-bedroom floor plans with private bathrooms for each resident. The community will also feature 11,00 square feet of shared amenity space, which will include a clubhouse, resort-style swimming pool, off-lease dog park, café-style study lounge, fitness center, full-time shuttle service, golf simulator, sand volleyball court and more.

The Standard at State College — A mixed-use development with 243 apartments and 1,007 beds, representing the highest bed count for Landmark Properties’ 2018 project starts. In addition to featuring studios, 2-, 3-, 4- and 5-bedroom apartments, The Standard at State College will also include nearly 19,000 square feet of amenity space and 30,000 square feet of retail and office space. The urban infill project is located immediately adjacent to the southwestern corner of Penn State University’s campus.

The Standard at Berkeley — A mixed-use development located immediately adjacent to the south side of UC – Berkeley’s campus. The Standard at Berkeley includes nearly 110,000 square feet of residential space and over 8,600 square feet of commercial retail space. The development will include 117 units totaling 410 beds ranging from studios to 6-bedroom floor plans. The amenities package is highlighted by a state-of-the-art fitness center, pool, study lounge and gaming area.

The Mark at Gainesville — An urban infill development featuring 140 apartments totaling 485 beds. Located just two blocks north of University of Florida’s campus, the new project will include studios, 1-, 2-, 3-, 4-, 5- and 6-bedroom floor plans as well as nearly 20,000 square feet of shared amenity space. The amenities package will feature a resort-style swimming pool, clubhouse, fitness center, café study lounge, gaming lounge and more.

 

These 2018 starts join 10 other Landmark Properties developments currently under construction: The Station at Orlando near Central Florida (2018), The Station at State College near Penn State (2018), The Standard at College Station near Texas A&M (2018), The Standard at Charlottesville near University of Virginia (2018), The Standard at Atlanta near Georgia Tech (2018), The Standard at Auburn (2019), The Standard at Flagstaff near Norther Arizona University (2019), The Mark at Tucson near University of Arizona (2019), The Standard at Tampa near University of South Florida (2019), and The Standard at Tallahassee near Florida State University (2019).
